Light Up The Sky

Each year a handful of Station Casinos properties put on a firework display in honor of the 4th of July. It’s an incredible event at each property, that draws in thousands of guests, so it’s a bit of a big deal. Up until 2022, the look varied at each property, which led to confusion when cross promoting and inconsistencies when the workload was divided among several designers. There was also a legibility concern with past artwork, as the largest form of advertising was through newsprint so the art needed to be high contrast to be easily understood.

The Solution
My solution was this bright red, white, and blue themed piece. I focused on keeping it clean, using the firework background to direct the guest’s eyes to the important information. The high contrast made it extra legible when it came to the newspaper ads, and the thick sans serif font allowed for easy readability among the older crowd. I went on to design marketing materials for each property informing guests of the event as well as parking locations, drink specials, and more. It was so successful that we went on to reuse this branding over and over again!
