Pool Drafter

The Problem

The pool design industry has been dominated by one major design software for years, Pool Studios. This software became popular for it’s cleaver 3D conversion feature, allowing the user to design their blueprints in a 2D space and easily convert it into a 3D rendering. Originally released in the early 2000s, this program has fallen out of favor with the pool design community for it’s high bloat, overwhelming interface, and poor customer service. The only major competitors had a steep learning curve and were more general CAD programs developed for a much broader industry.

The Solution

That’s where Master Draft Design comes in. They’re working on developing a software that solves the major technical issues regarding Pool Studios with their own competitor software built from scratch. Fully patent-able, crafted with pool designers in mind. I had the pleasure to work with the development and sales team to create a clean, elegant UI framework for their first software solution: Pool Drafter. This interactive prototype lays out menu functionality for the development team, including scalable svg icons, hover and toggle states, and clean and clear menu designs.
